September Weddings

September seems like a long time ago now but I photographed 3 weddings in September and now that I’ve finally got caught up on sorting and processing the pictures and pulling together the photos for the albums, I thought I would write a little blog about it all…

To be consistent with the summer weddings I last blogged about, I’ve chosen my 3 favourite pictures from each that I think capture the essence of that day.

Bride and Groom: Diane & Stuart

Venue(s): Muncaster Castle & Sellapark, Cumbria

The last wedding of September and of the year for me but definitely not the least.  In fact, in many ways this was the first wedding… We got asked if we would photograph this wedding a couple of years ago at which time my first instinct was to say no.  A wedding day won’t happen again and if I screwed it up I would never forgive myself.  Diane and Stuart should get someone professional… And I even suggested that.  But thankfully Diane and Stuart trusted in us encouraging both Denis and I to push forward in our photography so that we would be ready for their big day.  So if it wasn’t for being asked to photograph this wedding, none of the other weddings would have come before!  I am very grateful for this…

  1. Sisters.  I love this moment between two very close sisters.     diane-stuart-getting-ready-28
  2. A happy couple, some happy guests, confetti and a lovely sunny day.  diane-stuart-ceremony-124
  3. Muncaster Castle was a very grand venue.  I love this simple and (hopefully) timeless photograph.diane-stuart-reception-87

Bride and Groom: Nicki & Stuart

Venue(s): Winmarleigh House, Warrington

  1. A simple ceremony surrounded by family and friends.
  2. “Yeah!  My Mum and Dad just got married!”  dsc_3335
  3. Who knew that confetti could be so interesting? dsc_3474

Bride and Groom: Claire & Mark

Venue(s): St. Mary’s Mother of God, Kirkby & Melling Tithebarn, Maghull

  1. When it rains on your wedding day….  I love that this picture captures the weather, the bride smiling despite it all and her doting brothers making sure she arrived into the church looking dry and beautiful.

dsc_65132. A little moment outside – during one of those rare moments when it wasn’t raining.
dsc_6663-edit3. Claire was a dance instructor so she had choreographed a flash mob wedding dance to surprise Mark.  More than 50 guests were involved in the surprise.  I love that this picture captures the fun that was had – these guys know how to party!

So that’s it for weddings until next year.  I look forward to 2017 and the opportunity to be part of more days with happy couples celebrating their love surrounded by their family and friends…

It’s such a great experience.
