Roses are red
Blue is poo*
Frank is orange
And Estelle nearly too….
This was the poem that was penned in my Valentine’s card from Paul this morning. (*NB “Blue is poo” because Blue is the colour of Everton Football Club which is a team in Liverpool not supported by the author of the poem who instead supports the red team, Liverpool Football Club. ) This made me laugh so much I nearly cried!
We were up in the Cumbria for a weekend away from painting and decorating when the said card was received. And we were really lucky with the weather. Check out these pictures….
We spent some time in Wasdale valley, had a lovely pub Valentine’s pub meal at one of my favourite pubs (The Bridge Inn, Santon Bridge) and enjoyed the luxury of bed and breakfast accommodation as opposed to camping…. On Saturday, we saw a parachute display which was pretty cool. It was for a private wedding (the groom was a paratrooper) but the whole village turned out to see it.
Last weekend it was Paul’s birthday party! (His birthday was Monday – Happy Birthday, Paul!) We had a yummy (if I do say so myself) cheesy lasagne and a ginger chocolate cake. Paul seemed to be opening present from this Mum, Sister and nieces and nephews for ever too – very spoiled indeed! Here he is with Hannah and Josh who were helping his old lungs with the blowing bit. 😉
I’ve got a few days off at the end of the week this week as use the last of my holidays up before I finish at the beginning of March. It works out well because Helen and Harriet are coming across the water to have dinner in Oxton at the restaurant with a Michelin star…. We’ve been trying to book this for ages and we’re all looking forward to it very much. But it means I don’t have to get up for work the next day! 2 thumbs up to that!
