Another weekend went by too quickly…. They all seem to.
Thursday was Josh’s birthday so we had our dinner over there and some cake. He was a happy 7 year old and liked his, “angry birds” cake. I wonder how he’s getting on with the keyboard we got him…? He always likes playing the piano when he comes over to our house so hopefully he takes to the keyboard just the same.
I took Stella for a frosty walk down the fender on Saturday morning and then we spent the day pottering around and finishing off some jobs around the house. We went out for a meal on Saturday night – Indian – with Paul’s cousin, Gary and his wife, Jo. Paul and Gary had been celebrating Liverpool’s success in the football that day though and they were both a bit worse for wear by the end of the evening much to the amusement of Jo and I.
On Sunday we had a lovely walk in the park with the kids and Jayne and Paul. They always love to see Stella and are full of stories about what they have been doing in school. We had a chat with Jayne and Paul too about our pending holiday to Centreparcs which the kids are still in the dark about. There are so many activities to choose from and the accommodation – chalets dotted around the woods – looks really good too. I’m looking forward to it. Later on that day we went to Parkgate and had an ice cream. Yum yum. I had a scoop of raspberry ripple with coconut and a scoop of mint chocolate chip. 😉
I saw my first daffodils on the weekend and snowdrops are out too. We are enjoying longer evenings and it’s not dark when I leave for work anymore…. Spring is most definitely in the air. It’s made us think about camping trips and start planning this year’s adventures. I like that. J
