Happy Thanksgiving!

I had a really nice long weekend this past weekend.  I took Friday off as Brent arrived Thursday evening for the weekend.  I suppose I should’ve taken Monday off to align with Canadian Thanksgiving but that wouldn’t have worked too well in terms of maximising time with Brent…!

We had a great catch up which started with a trip to Cheshire Oaks for some shopping on Friday.  On Saturday we went on a circular walk on the Wirral that we’d found in a book – it was really good and we discovered some new places to walk.  We walked on the beach from West Kirby to Hoylake and stopped in the Green Lodge for a drink and a comfort break.  From there we walked cross country to Larton’s Farm which is dedicated to horses and dogs and enjoyed another rest break at their café.  We carried on over to Caldy past some beautiful and very expensive homes, through some lovely woods and then back into West Kirby.

On Saturday night we went for a meal at the Wheatshef which has become one of our favourite places to go out for food…. I had venison stew with a redcurrant sauce.  Yum.  And banana and praline parfait for desert.  Double yum.

On Sunday we headed to Liverpool for a wander around the shops in the sun.  I have now virtually finished my Christmas shopping which I’m quite pleased about and definitely very *thankful* for…

Stella was excited about playing with her “Uncle Brent” and especially cuddling on the sofa – an activity usually prohibited.  I’m sure she’ll find the house quiet today as all returns to normal…

On the kitchen front, the plaster is drying out slowly.  It’s almost there now – so the next job this weekend is painting.  We are having a floor tile delivery on Saturday as well and the plumber is coming at the end of the month to fit the radiators.  Things are progressing towards completion… 😉
