We just had the pleasure of having Lauren and Andre stay with us for a few days as part of their ongoing tour of the UK. It was lovely to see them and it was great to catch up with Lauren and to get to know Andre better.
My favourite part of the visit was the Thanksgiving dinner Lauren prepared for us and 16 other people on Saturday night. It was nice to have the house full of chatting, laughter and the smell of amazing food. Although the kitchen had a steady stream of activity all day long in the preparations for the meal, there were lots of people helping so Lauren always seemed to be in control. There was the traditional giving thanks call where everyone around the table had to say something they were thankful for. I was thankful for our visitors coming to spend time with us, making such a fabulous meal and bringing such lovely people into our house.
We also had a couple of trips to Liverpool for some site seeing. This included one to the newly refurbished library which I was most impressed with. The Picton reading room was amazing and I always love a good view from above which the roof terrace offered. Other highlights of the visit included a whistle stop driving tour of the Wirral, a lovely meal at the Turkish restaurant Elif, the fact that Brent came up for a visit too and, of course, Andre’s dancing. 😉
Although we will next see Lauren and Andre in Canada in September for their wedding, I do hope they come to visit us again soon. J
