concert, market and walk…

It’s getting to that hum drum time of year where it’s hard to get out of bed on a Monday morning…. It’s so dark, often wet and it still feels like quite a long stretch before the next big break at Christmas time. But moaning over, I got myself into work and managed to be *slightly* productive over the course of the day!  It helped that I had a really nice weekend….

We went to see the Arctic Monkey’s in concert on Friday night in Liverpool which was entertaining. They played a lot of newer stuff that I hadn’t heard but a couple of the favourites too.  On Saturday morning, we hit the Wirral Farmer’s market to get some flowers for the winter hanging baskets but ended up picking up a few yummy treats too – as you do. After planting the new plants, I had a wander in a couple of the village shops and then we made a slap up roast dinner and had a warm and cosy fire. On Sunday we headed out to Wales early and had a lovely walk incorporating the Clwydian Way (www.clwydianway.co.uk) and Offa’s Dyke long distance walking paths. There were small rain showers here and there but nothing to get too upset about….and they actually resulted in a couple of pretty rainbows too. We were walking for almost 5 hours, 10 & 1/2 miles in the end.

I call it the warm up walk for next weekend when we’re off to the Lake District camping and Paul has got a couple of *big ones* up his sleeve….!
