concert, market and walk…

It’s getting to that hum drum time of year where it’s hard to get out of bed on a Monday morning…. It’s so dark, often wet and it still feels like quite a long stretch before the next big break at Christmas time. But moaning over, I got myself into work and managed to be *slightly* productive over the course of the day!  It helped that I had a really nice weekend….

We went to see the Arctic Monkey’s in concert on Friday night in Liverpool which was entertaining. They played a lot of newer stuff that I hadn’t heard but a couple of the favourites too.  On Saturday morning, we hit the Wirral Farmer’s market to get some flowers for the winter hanging baskets but ended up picking up a few yummy treats too – as you do. After planting the new plants, I had a wander in a couple of the village shops and then we made a slap up roast dinner and had a warm and cosy fire. On Sunday we headed out to Wales early and had a lovely walk incorporating the Clwydian Way ( and Offa’s Dyke long distance walking paths. There were small rain showers here and there but nothing to get too upset about….and they actually resulted in a couple of pretty rainbows too. We were walking for almost 5 hours, 10 & 1/2 miles in the end.

I call it the warm up walk for next weekend when we’re off to the Lake District camping and Paul has got a couple of *big ones* up his sleeve….!
