I have been a bit reticent with my blog of late for which I extend my apologies… But I am keen to tell you about last weekend – before this weekend starts. I know – I am cutting it close… 😉
On Saturday, I had afternoon tea at Panoramic 34 (http://www.panoramic34.com). This is a restaurant on the 34th floor of a high rise building in Liverpool which offers great views of the city including particularly the Liver buildings, the River Mersey and also the Wirral. It is a occasion kind of place rather than an everyday haunt… The occasion being that a girl called Iwona that has been working with me for the past few months is on her way back home to Poland. What better way to say good-bye than a very traditional British afternoon tea at the top of Liverpool.
It wasn’t a place to go to save money but I have to say it was one of the best afternoon teas that I have had. The truffles were to die for and the service was great too.
After our lunch we walked through the shops – an attempt to burn off some calories more than anything – and I bought a very flowery pair of Vans sneakers that I’d been coveting. Iwona was very patient while I tried shoes on and decided.
Some might think that two afternoon teas in one weekend is greedy… They are probably right but I didn’t let this stop me on Sunday. Emily came over to get some pictures of the dresses she was been developing for her business Profile Dresses (www.profiledresses.com). This was my modelling debut! 😉 She is doing so well and has come along so far since having the idea – I really admire her determination and perseverance. If you want a dress made, she’s your man. We had such a fun afternoon chatting, trying on the dresses, taking pictures and enjoying afternoon tea made by my own fair hands. It wasn’t quite up to the standard of Panoramic 34 but there wasn’t much left afterwards all the same. Emily very kindly gave me two of the dresses I’d modelled – one for my birthday and one for taking the pictures. I like them both very much and they fit perfectly. I am very lucky and very spoiled.
Here we are strutting our stuff!
Paul escaped from these girly goings-on by going for a very long walk with Denis – 20+ miles or something similarly crazy. I think they enjoyed themselves and it was nice to see him when he got home and to share stories about our days…
And after a very busy week at work, we’re almost back around to another weekend. Bring it on!
