Last weekend we made a little excursion out to North Wales to have a little break and take in a couple of walks. We are still Frank-less as he undergoes body repairs so we stayed in a dog friendly hotel with a pub attached in Porthmadog.
We arrived Saturday evening after I had a very pleasant morning shopping for shoes with Emily and her sister Laura for Emily’s wedding which was followed by some lunch in the village. When we arrived in Porthmadog, we had a little wander around the town and then found some food for dinner.
On Sunday we had a lovely walk the high-light of which was the bit where we walked the stretch of Black Rock Sands. It was a beautiful day and Stella really appreciated the opportunity to run in and out of the surf for her ball. After the walk, we went to the pub which our hotel was attached to and had a lovely meal. I particularly liked my glass of Pimms and lemonade – I’ve always wanted to try that.
On Monday after our lovely breakfast in the hotel, we met Helen, Francis and Owen at Rhyd Ddu for a trip up Snowdon. Paul and I have both been up before more than once but it was Helen and Owen’s first trip up. Francis admitted he had been up before when he was young – but went on the train! It was a pretty much perfect day for a walk – maybe slightly warm on the way up but the clouds came over closer to the top to keep the temperatures bearable. Stella enjoyed the walk too and was very excited about the additional company. The views were great, however, the crowds of people at the top were very off-putting…
Another busy week of training at work but we are looking forward to this weekend and the visit from the Capenhurst crowd who are coming over for a BBQ. I love it when we are all together. 🙂
