A relaxing weekend of the most enviable nature….

I didn’t think it was going to be too relaxing after waking up quite wide awake at 5am Saturday… but getting up and watching the sun coming up with a warm fire going helped. Later I popped into town to do some shopping, caught up with Lauren’s news and on Saturday night we headed to Holmes Chapel for dinner at our friends’ Robert and Andy’s. It was a bit of a Capenhurst reunion – of people that I worked with there that have now left. It was a lovely, relaxing evening with great food and conversation. Here everyone is looking happy and relaxed.

The fact that it rained all day Sunday helped to sustain the relaxation of the weekend initiated on the previous day. I spent the day sewing a pair of curtains for Brent’s new apartment. They seem to look straight and even at the bottom so we’ll see what happens when they are hung! I took a bit of time off the curtain making to wish my Dad a Happy 70th Birthday. I wish I could’ve been at home to celebrate but at least we were able to have a little celebration together when they were here.

Another Capenhurst get together as the girls that still work there are having a dinner and bingo night tonight. I’m going to pop along and say hello. The rest of the week is just about average really….

This weekend, though, we’re supposed to be going camping in Wales with Brent who’s coming up from London. The weather has been very unsettled lately though so we are going to play it by ear and might give it a miss if heavy downpours and gale force winds are predicted. There have been some lovely crisp, clear days but lots of rain too. Fingers crossed we get the former and not the later!
