It was our turn for a long weekend last weekend and the productive weekend we had planned in the garden was fulfilled. The weather most certainly played along while we stained and painted garden furniture. I enjoyed sitting out in the garden in the sun on Sunday afternoon while “waiting for the paint to dry”. Paul claims that I fell asleep with my mouth gaping open – I’m sure it’s untrue…. 😉 The weather turned a bit on Monday when we got to planting plants but I didn’t feel like we could complain. I have high hopes particularly for the clematis and bamboo although the alpine plants in the side of the garden look very pretty right now too.
In between the work we managed a couple of nice walks with Stella – I chose MoretonShore and ArrowePark as my destinations while Paul opted for the Arno Gardens and Fields. We also treated ourselves to lunch at Port Sunlight Garden Centre while we were on our plant buying mission which included Cheshire Ice Cream to finish (banana and toffee flavoured this time). I also practiced the piano (and then had nightmares about the piano exam I’m planning on taking at the end of the year) while Paul made plans for doing some work on the van suspension this week – that seems like hard work.
A nice short week this week with nothing too out of the ordinary planned – maybe a chance to enjoy the long summer evenings all being well.
