First of all, a few shout outs to start the post….
- Over in New Zealand, Annalie and Paul have a new little guy in their family as of the 10th of December. He is called Erik and looks as cute as a button so congratulations to them.
- In Canada, a big Happy Birthday to Janet for last week. I see Liverpool FC gave a good 5 goal show on the weekend to help her celebrate!
- And back in England, Happy Moversary to Paul for today – 45 months of marriage and I still feel very lucky and happy to be married to him! Blah…. 😉
This weekend, it felt a whole lot like Christmas when Brent was here visiting. We went Christmas shopping on Saturday – our plan was Birkenhead and then Liverpool but I think we were both quite impressed with Birkenhead and managed to get everything we were looking for there so we didn’t end up venturing across the water. It felt very festive with the decorations and music in the shops, the number of people out and about and the mince pie we enjoyed in the coffee shop. After shopping, we came home and had a Christmas roast dinner which Paul was largely responsible for and then watched some very festive television – sort of. Something about psychopaths in fact!?
On Sunday we all went for a walk with Robert and Andy in East Cheshire which started at Marbury Park, took in the Anderton Boat Lift and the canal. I was a bit disappointed with the accessibility of the boat lift and the fact that it wasn’t working while we were there but the most fabulous floating canal boat sweet shop made up for it.
Finally, to report back on a Christmas miracle, I passed my piano exam! I still feel a bit shocked but I am pleased with my success and the progress I’ve made with the piano this year and look forward to framing my certificate when it arrives. 😉
Now roll on Thursday please and my last day of work of 2013. J
